Trinity Square
Rainton Construction was appointed to undertake civil engineering works on this town centre mixed use development comprising retail, entertainment, student accommodation, health centre and 278 works.
The main works included the construction of large reinforced concrete foundations involving all excavation formwork and steel reinforcement. The majority of excavation was recycled by Tynedale Reclamation.
Drainage comprised of surface and foul pipelines, interceptor tanks and connections to the public highway drainage which involved traffic management and liaising with Statutory and Public Authorities.
Our works also included the construction of reinforced concrete retaining walls up to 10m high and included all water proofing. Reinforced concrete floor slabs were installed to both the ground and upper floors of the development.
Whilst working up to the 13th floor and to the retail and elevated public plaza areas, a tower crane was used, with lifts planned and executed by our in-house team of specialists.
In addition to the above, we constructed access roads and basement car parking incorporating hard landscaping with road and parking demarcation and external works together with extensive street furniture installation. This included procuring stone paving imported from China which was critical from both a cost and programme perspective.
278 works involved alterations to highway works, street light ducting, cold milling and asphalt concrete surfacing and road marking. Surfacing was undertaken by our in house team and the material was provided by Tynedale Roadstone.
We also carried out trench work and installed ducts for high voltage cables, low voltage cables, gas, water, BT and Virgin Media.
