In November 2021 we brought down a 20 metre section of high-level conveyor and a junction house on the former Raw Materials Area at Teesworks. This explosive demolition formed part of a larger blowdown taking place a month later.
We undertook the demolition of the former Ore Bunker, the 2000 tonne bunker stored iron ore which fed the blast furnace and Junction House 43, this was the first blowdown carried out at night. The bunker and associated structures formed part of the Raw Materials Handling area on the former Redcar Steelworks.
Our works are clearing land as part of Teesside Freeport, the UK’s largest so we can secure more businesses bringing good-quality well-paid jobs for local people.
