Reading Rocks Shed to help children catch up after covid

The Children’s Foundation is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people in the North East through a variety of schemes, including Reading Rocks at Tyneview Primary School.

The Reading Rocks Shed – named by the students at the Newcastle school – is an engaging, creative space where small groups can be helped with their reading to catch-up following the pandemic.

As part of our ongoing support for the charity, Rainton Construction undertook drainage works and extra pointing to ensure everything was ready on time for the children.

Simon Bartram, the local author of the popular children’s book Man on the Moon officially opened the Reading Rocks Shed at Tyneview Primary School in Walker on Friday 9 July.

We are proud to have helped get this amazing space ready for pupils to aid their learning and development.
